Re: Printing Speed Options

Another thing that would be nice is if the speed for outermost perimeters could be reduced some distance BEFORE the nozzle moves to the outside (I normally print from inside out). When speed is reduced at the same time as the move to the outer layer, latent pressure in the nozzle causes over extrusi...

Re: Honeycomb design

Since S3D wants to run two perimeters on any wall, you'll probably need .8mm walls to get it to build.

Re: Honeycomb design

I modeled and printed a honeycomb before. I used a .35" nozzle and modeled the honeycomb walls at .75mm thick. It worked fine.

Re: Perimeter: 2x Thickness?

I think you'd want to use a larger nozzle diameter to achieve the twice the extrusion width. I use a larger nozzle for heavier prints so I can go wider and thicker to save print time.

Re: Looking for overhangs.. when Dense support is on

There are at least two threads on this. https://forum.simplify3d.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=4789 https://forum.simplify3d.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=4505 Some models have sliced if I increased the layer thickness. I've also made some coarser STL files to resolve the issue. That was eariler before ...

Re: How do I remove these?

the perimeter needs to start and stop somewhere. The only way you can totally eliminate retraction points on the outside is to print using the single-layer vase/spiral mode. You can use the retraction settings to tweak the transitions at these points to minimize the blip that will happen at these po...

Re: Rhythmical gaps in outter layers issue

I'd look at a few things. It seems to be a material surge at the start of the outermost perimeter. I have seen this as well, but not that severe. On the Layer tab, set your perimeters to print from the inside-out and print more than one outline shell. I like to use at least 3. Then on the advanced t...
