I am getting some very strange gcode printing a simple cylinder in vase mode, almost as if it's printing every layer twice in regular mode. I'm using Windows version 3.1.0.0

Are you sure the settings are exactly the same? Because something definitely looks different with the number of perimeters.

My guess is that this is a minor bug-fix release that has been sent out to appease the masses, while the major "version 4" release is behind schedule. As soon as I saw "3.1" I figured the release would be incremental.

If a factory file is created with a certain profile and the profile is later changed and updated, then when the factory file is loaded again it should be tagged with some sort of (modified) label to indicate that the profile has changed. Are you running it using the sudo commands andrew listed above? Or are you trying to launch it a different way? I also run it on Linux and have never had any problems. So there must be something different about what you're doing or how your system is configured... Its a rolling system, we use Arch ...

I think that's over-extrusion. Turn down the extrusion multiplier. With some filaments you may have to go quite low. I run Hatchbox wood-fill at 0.80, for example. You may also want to check the actual measured feed rate of your extruder.

This is a very interesting idea and seemingly a good solution to the problem. I'm not sure I'd hold up the next release for it (which is right around the corner, right guys? Right? RIGHT?), but I'd certainly like to see it on the list of things you start looking into actively.

Why are you constantly adjusting your infill speed? Put it into spreadsheet, make a matrix... How are you determining the optimum absolute speed for your infill? Should review your workflow, if you ask me... For example, I have found that curved perimeters bond better with the infill when the infil...
