Re: Problems on length filament/weight

You cant take settings from one piece of software and plug them into another and expect the same results. There is tons of math involved in this. For it to be the same then every algoritm in each program would have to be exactly the same. S3d will not give you the exact same print as cura.

Re: Estimated time and Mass off by factor of 2. precisely.

You have to remember that makerbot desktop was made for the makerbot only. S3d has to work with tons of different printers. Again, how much its off depends on your firmware settings and how many travel moves are in the print. with all that said, your right. There should be a multiplier or something ...

Re: Avoid Crossing Outline doesn't appear to do anything

Keep in mind its going to depend on the model. Sometimes there is no other way to get to the point it needs to go. A model with 2 pillars for instance.

Re: Estimated time and Mass off by factor of 2. precisely.

you can easily set the filament density in your profile but you cannot change the print time. how much that is off will vary depending on the print. s3d can only take a wild guess at the time. every printer is different and usually comes down to your firmware settings for acceleration. if your fairl...

Re: Top Layers Not Solid

Yes there is no room to put another extrusion there. Lower your perimeters to 2 so there will be more room for infill.

Re: locked out of resets, have only installed S3D on ONE dev

are you emailing s3d or are you using the support contact page on their website? always email. dont ever use a contact form. i had to shut mine on my own website down because i would get hammered by spam bots and would end up with 1000's of messages every day. its very easy for your msg to get lost ...

Re: First Layer Refinement - Go Away Distinct Filament Lines

dont use the z offset in s3d. not that it doesnt work but having that set in your saved processes is going to screw things up down the road when you foret to adjust or change it. you'll load a process and not realize there is something set there and it will mess the print up. just keep it at zero an...

Re: MG2 V4 rev D filament guide tube issue?

It just sits on top. Makergaer has been like this fir years but if you check their github they might have the most current filament drive file posted which does have a hole to support the guide tube
