You can also omit the file path altogether (using only the STL filename) if you put it in the same folder as the savedstate.factory and temp.gcode

The Finder uses yet another different set of USB comms... not much can be done about that outside of a software update.

You could enable the "Only retract when crossing open spaces" option under the Advanced tab, that should do the trick.

It's not exactly a one click option, but when it's critical, I create an extra process for the first layer using start/stop printing at height. Then I set the horizontal size compensation to shrink the first layer by whatever amount I've measured (usually about ~0.3 mm for me).

Alternatively, you can add temperature changes to your process. Go to the temperature tab (hit Show Advanced if you haven't already) and add as many layer temperature setpoints as your heart desires. Then you won't have to deal with getting the GPX command line parameters sorted.
