Re: Newbie here...What am I doing wrong?

That will need supports or you can alter the model so that the base is flat by dropping it to the build plate and then manually lowering the model in Z by several mm's so that the slicer will ignore what is below the build plate and will print the base as a flat surface. If you don't want to change ...

Re: Help with gaps

You can add top layers. Also if you increase infill percentage near the top surfact that will help. You can achieve this using multiple processes and using the the start and stop layer commands in the process to define the different infill % at specific locations in the model. Also increasing overla...

Re: Dual extruder Simplify3D

I was excited to see this feature but they don't have a profile for the Taz 5 with dual extruder option yet, just the stock single. So I will still have to set it up manually. :-(

Every model does it. Regardless of source. The bed is at z = -0.25 when I set it for Taz 4 and turn off auto arrange in the tools/options menu.

Re: Imported stl's not correctly tabled in Z

Ok a factory file won't do you any good because it will show the model at z = 0. It's the bed that's actually at Z = -0.25mm. So the problem isn't the model or the import, it's S3D's bed location for the Taz 4 Be sure to go to tools, options, models, and deselect "center and and arrange models after...

It must be something wrong with my settings somewhere in S3D.

Out of curiosity I'm trying to replicate your issue and I can't get any of the models I have on my desktop to act the way yours does.

Could you please share a factory file?

Yes I'll post one tonight (I'm at work right now).

Did you set your config assistant for the Taz 3 or 4?

Re: Imported stl's not correctly tabled in Z

No this is not it. If I drop any model to the table after import, the z coordinate is always reported at -.25mm. Before dropping the z coordinate is 0.00. So S3D has the build plate at -0.25mm. I am using a Taz 4 print configuration. Is this something in the settings? This happens will all models im...

Imported stl's not correctly tabled in Z

I have auto arrange turned off, because I am importing multiple stl files that must be arranged in a specific way (for dual extrusion), which I set up before hand in my solid modeler. I place the models at the required x y z coords. and then export them to stl files. When I import the files, they ar...

Manual support upgrade

Being able to select portions of a model defining where supports are requested. Rather than adding supports one at a time, or depending on the shaky automatic placement. This could be handled in a number of ways. 1. Selecting individual triangles of the stl to be supported via clicking with the mous...
