Re: Failed support generation for point-overhangs

Yes I find S3D's automatic support generation to be poor. But the fact that you can apply them manually is a great feature. I rarely use auto generated supports. I just take the extra time to define them manually so I know they will be the way I want them. It would be nice if S3D fixed this issue.

Re: Large Blob when switching Extruders

Does this only happen on the very first layer? or does it continue to happen for the rest of the print? Can you post a factory file so I can see what settings you are using? Just the very first tool change. Again this is because both nozzles start out primed. But because I have a tool change retrac...

Re: Ignore gcode for a part that falls over mid-print.

When printing tall objects or if you are having trouble knocking parts over, enable retraction vertical lift and set it to .4mm or so. Then when you do a travel there will be a retraction and a z hop and you won't knock over your parts anymore.

Re: Seeking advice on holes in top of print

Higher infill % or a thicker infill width might help this.

Re: Large Blob when switching Extruders

I have this issue. It only happens on the first tool change. It's because I have the tool change code set to retract 12mm on the dormant extruder. Problem is, when it first switches to tool 1, the software assumes that tool is retracted 12mm, but it isn't because both extruders are primed at the sta...

Re: Model scale export issues

This seems like a good place to mention this bug: If you scale up a model, say for example to 2x. When you save the factory file, it will saved the scaled up stl correctly. However when you reload the factory file, the model will be scaled up correctly, BUT if you double click the model, it will sho...

Re: Factory File Should Save Model Scale

i never did any testing to find out. if in fact the model does stay scaled like you say but it reverts the value back to 1 then something needs to be done with that. thats just doesnt make sense and can be a big waste of a print. you really have no idea what size your model is. on dimensionally acc...

Re: Factory File Should Save Model Scale

I think it actually does save the scale, but then calls up the model already scaled up and shows the scale factor as 1. SO very confusing to say the least.

Re: Print times woefully wrong

They should probably not bother trying to predict the time to finish, since it is so far off there is no point to it. We can tell how much time is left based on how long it's taken so far and what lies ahead for the specific print job. The percent complete is valuable and all we really need. In line...

Re: Upper Raft?

I don't see why an elevated raft can't be programmed into the software, and it would greatly improve surface finish. Been saying this for years.
