Re: Troubleshooting help needed Geared Extruder mod

Regarding extrusion calibration and getting perfect measurements, I've been using following test file and the Excel spreadsheet that is linked there. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1622868 This works great. Easy and fast. You just print the part 6 times in a single machine run, measure the insid...

Re: Troubleshooting help needed Geared Extruder mod

Extrusion and print quality is not the issue here. The issue is that I have a 20% deviation in my settings to get to the perfect result. So, the extrusion multiplier is 0.80 instead of 1.00 to get it right and it looks to me like a settings issue or incompatible parameters somewhere in the chain. U...

Re: Troubleshooting help needed Geared Extruder mod

Hi, Can anyone explain to me why my setup needs a 20% deviation to print fine? When I measure the width of a single printed line (on the bed) it's 0.50mm, so that seems accurate as well. You might want to have a look at this thread, especially the difference between s3d/slic3r: https://3dprinting.st...

Re: Difference in curved surfaces

We are setting our .stl export to a higher resolution and will check. This should solve your problem. If you can't really see the difference when inside S3D, try to enable wireframe view (View -> Wireframe or CTRL+W). Depending on colors/angle the difference might not be that obvious otherwise. A 3...

There's two processes in your screenshot - any chance you're slicing using both and did only change the setting for one of them?

Re: Add Texture

is there a way to project textures onto the exterior walls? I don't want to have to do this in the CAD application. vs 1+ aka "Fuzzy Skin" feature in CURA this should help --https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0idzsa41LQ -- Two very different things... Projecting textures (IdeaMaker): https:...

Re: Lay non flat surface on the bed?

A sphere has no face. STL/OBJ -> Segmentation. They do have faces. Even if exporting at extremely high detail levels (like some tools like zBrush/mudbox do) this will be limited by the minimum segment size of the slicer in use. Also printer firmwares like marlin usually do have a minimum segment le...

Re: Please add Qidi Tech I-Fast Configuration in the supported printers list.

Hi, ...so It can be automatically added to the software easily so I don't have to switch between printers each time and set it up every time I use it. are you using the configuration assistant to switch between different printers? If so you might want to have a closer look at the "Update Machin...

Re: Is Simplify3D worth the cost?

@parallyze, I looked into it again, and Prusa Slicer still does not have coast. The screenshot you showed does not do the same thing. And I've never said that Wipe equals Coast... I do know the difference. Yes, it does work a bit different - but Slic3r/PrusaSlicer does have a wipe option. Could you...
