Re: Noob with printing issues... Taz 6

If you look closely at the solid layers in the G-Code preview, you'll see that these areas are not being instructed to be printed. Slice with a smaller extrusion width and you'll likely find that the gaps are now filled with a nice solid extrusion. Ah! Yes, very interesting. I shall explore further...

Re: Noob with printing issues... Taz 6

For anyone to make sense of your settings, they will need to see your factory file. File menu====> Save factory file Knock yourself out! And thanks in advance for the help. These settings turn out a more consistent print and can even be somewhat nice looking as long as the solid surfaces have no ro...

Re: Noob with printing issues... Taz 6

OK, after like 6 runs and adjustments I have not eliminated the gaps at the edges where the holes are in the corners. Also there is a weird pattern where it starts in a corner and nothing is extruded but its trying to do a solid layer. You can see it in both the top and bottom layers. It consistentl...

Re: Noob with printing issues... Taz 6

If the Cura startup succeeds and the Simplify3D one doesn't, you should take a look at the startup gcode to see what's different. You could also post the first few non-comment lines here (i.e everything after "; horizontalSizeCompensation" through "; layer 1" from Simplify3D) if...

Re: Noob with printing issues... Taz 6

You're only showing pictures of the first layer. That can be highly influenced by the position of the nozzle. You would be better off printing 30 or so layers and then taking a picture of the 30th layer. That will tell you if the problem is due to nozzle positioning or underextrusion Well, none of ...

Re: Noob with printing issues... Taz 6

Here are the images that show the bad prints; https://goo.gl/photos/sUkyasUNCdiuTVgy7 This is 1.0 extruder multiplier and 20 overlap. I had the values much higher but I think the retract speed and length were the biggest factors in closing those gaps. The problem is the surfaces degraded accordingly...

Noob with printing issues... Taz 6

Hello! I have two printers; Dremel original and Lulzbot Taz 6 Simplify3D just made my Dremel shine! There is no question Simplify3D is the missing software in that situation. My Taz 6 is a different story. The imperfections were numerous with the default settings. As I took the guide to correct them...
