Re: Impossible slice?

So, not everyone quite understood what I wanted to do - "The Bum" had an accurate description of what I was trying to do. RoboDLC was on the right track... which hinted at a solution: possible.png Two parts - a shell with a wall thickness*2 and an inner portion. I simply removed perimeters...

Re: Impossible slice?

I’m going to try a few things tonight - I realize trying to print infill without a perimeter will be a disaster, so at a certain point this will just be an academic excercise. DLC’s suggestion gave me an idea...

Re: Impossible slice?

It sounds to me like you want to do a multiple process print with no top layers on the first process and top layers on the second process. Not sure how to get the infill shown on just the one side wall.. my guess is you may have to model it that way or truly cut it. Yeah, I'm already doing that to ...

Re: Impossible slice?

Imagine I printed a solid cube (25% infill). I then cut a cube out of the cube with a power tool (ie, dremel). You would see the top honeycomb pattern, as well as the infill from the side.

Re: Bulging corner at layer change - related to start points

Hi Lance, Any luck? Just saw your post - I'm subscribed but missed the notification. Could you post a picture further from the print? The only remaining issue I'm seeing are gaps where layer changes, though wiping seems to help a bit. However, it is sufficient for my prints, I'd like to eliminate it...

Impossible slice?

I'd like to slice a cube such that when sliced, it will look like I cut a cube from one of the corners. I can mimic this somewhat with multiple processes: cube.png But the perimeters on the inside shouldn't print. Any thoughts? I tried switching to relative positioning and editing the gcode, but it ...

Re: [bug] v4.0.1 gcode preview behavior inconsistent

Hi Doug, Thanks for your detailed description, and I'll try to use some of your text to clarify my original report. I can confirm on OS X that 4.0.0 works as you've written, but 4.0.1 does not: In Preview Mode, you can either use "Preview GCode file...." or drag & drop a gcode file ont...

Re: [bug] v4.0.1 gcode preview behavior inconsistent

... additionally I think it makes no senses to open the preview from the external gcode an other time when the origin preview is active. More than looking and controling the preview print is not possible. The only one reason may be to compare different variants of the planned print, but for me, I d...

[bug] v4.0.1 gcode preview behavior inconsistent

I'm pretty sure this is a bug in S3D 4.0.1. If I prepare a file to print, then drop a gcode file on the print preview - or use the menu ( File > Preview G-Code File... ) to preview a gcode file while in Preview Mode - the display doesn't update with the new gcode preview. I have to exit preview mode...
