Re: Ignoring Very Small Details

Another way that might work is to use an extrusion width that is larger than the hole diameters. See what the slicer does with that, not sure if it will work or do something strange. It might require you to use a large nozzle diameter.

@TomOH you are assuming that version 5 will ever ship. Right now it is vaporware, until proven otherwise. And no one would like to see me proven wrong more than myself.

Re: Paid upgrade For 2020 upcoming Version 5.0

If I was a betting man I'd say S3D is dead. We are half way into March now and not a peep. If they aren't going under they are sure acting like it. It's a shame but all things come to an end. And now with the worldwide virus wreaking economic chaos, it will likely spell the end for many companies th...

Re: FFF file location?

I found this section of posts regarding proper use of the registry quite interesting. https://stackoverflow.com/questions/691448/windows-registry-best-practices Opinions are split. But most agree it is a poor idea to use the registry for frequently used data, as it can easily get out of sync when th...

Re: Print two halfs

Drop the model to the build bed. Then double click on the model and change the existing z coordinate by negative the amount of mm's you want below the bed. It will slice and create the gcode for only that portion at and above the build bed. Then rotate the model 180 degrees in Y and redo the slicing...

Re: Saving processes?

I absolutely hate the way print settings are saved and how they are controlled. The processes should be saved specifically with the factory file only and be part of that save file (not a secret hidden place somewhere in the registry). If you choose to, you could save the process on it's own for your...

Re: LIQUID CONTAINER

Create a process in the bottom surface layers so they over extrude, and do 6 to 8 solid layers. On the vertical walls do 3 or more perimeters and print at as high a temperature as you can with the material you are using to get the best layer adhesion.

Kind sick of hearing about Prusa slicer. Go talk about it at a Prusa forum.

Switching printers problem

I have a Lulzbot Taz 5 and a Makerbot R2. When I switch printers from the R2 to the Taz 5, by loading a factory file, the printer obj file of the R2's base remains behind and the print bed and volume box of the Taz5 appears. This will work, but it's annoying. The only way I can get each printer to c...

Re: Feature Request: Better support generation

I like all the ideas presented here. But to me the bigger problem is the support interface to the print and surface quality. Solve that and you have a huge winner. Perhaps something like a raft on top of the supports? Or something along those lines? Also the gap between supports and printed part sho...
