Re: OK, Time to Start Yet Another "Where is Version 5? " Thread

My internet was down the other day and S3D ran without issue. Although I wonder how long it would go before demanding a reconnect? Not sure.

Re: Giving Up on S3D

Prusaslicer isn't that hard to setup. Sure it's a lot different but a couple of nights reading and you're pretty much up to speed on it. I do like their material, filament and printer handling and how it saves those setups separately. I have a totally custom printer that started out as a Taz 5 and n...

Re: Any chance of a version 4.2 release?

I hope so, too, but even if they do, we probably won't get to use it. They are headed down the saas rabbit hole targeting monthly fees from farms. There's no incentive to cater to us, since they already got our money. Just look at the number of new forum users per month from, arbitrarily, 2017, vs ...

Re: Any chance of a version 4.2 release?

Does S3D even deserve the benefit of the doubt anymore? They could ship tomorrow, I have no idea. But my guess is S3D will never ship another version. I hope to be proven wrong.

Re: New printer can't handle unsupported overhangs

I have two printers both heavily upgraded and modified. My Makerbot R2 is the overhang champion, it prints them fantastically. But my Taz 5, which has more work done to it than Meg Ryan only with great results lol, can't print a decent overhang if its life depended on it. The difference between them...

Ya know... I bet.... Someone talked them into going SaaS! YUP! That HAS to be it! I bet they no longer sell it as a stand alone licensed app and instead LEECH US $$$ EVERY MONTH!! That's already been rumored and makes sense since they completely revamped their shop and network in a recent communica...

Re: split big models

An easy way to cut big models in half is to drop the portion of the model you don't want sliced below the print bed prior to slicing. Drop the model to the bed. Double click in the model. In the window that pops up on the right, near the top, deduct from the value currently shown in the Z direction,...

Re: prevent suppot in a small hole?

Use manual supports. Click on auto generate supports. Remove the supports it creates in the hole.
