Re: Stringing

I'm having similar issues on a Fusion 3 F410 but for a start, I'd reccomend you increase your retraction distances since its a Bowden, it could want to retract more than 5 mm. Also try increasing your temperatures. Try using https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2729076 and S3D's variable settings wiza...

Connecting Makerbot Replicator 2X to Machine CP

Capture.PNG Been trying this for half a day and I am at a loss. Installed all the drivery-doos, plugged in all the fidgety digits and I still cant establish a connection to the printer over USB. I've gotten other machines to connect on my other station (with an Anycubic Kossel LP) so I know I'm not...

Assemblies

Capture.PNG I know this may technically-speaking be asking for a lot, but I think it would make S3D really a cut above other slicers if it had the capability to more easily let you mate STL parts like assemblies. In the case of the DS9 model here for instance, my workflow would now be to bring the ...

Re: Boogers?

Basically called it right @ boogers. Happens when material builds up on the outside of the nozzle and gets deposited when it gets to a certain size or the head changes direction. You could try adjusting/lowering your extrusion multiplier; also make sure you are setting the correct filament diameter ...

Re: Different file icons

Check out this little utility. I haven't used it but it is supposed to be good. I think you can use it to change the file type description. http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/file_types_manager.html Yeah again though, it's not really my place to install software like that on a work machine. It's a workar...

Re: Different file icons

That shouldn't be a problem here. S3D is what I use for 99% of my .STL opens, the rest being SolidWorks opens and you need to perform that in a funny manner anyway to pull it in as a solid you can manipulate, so having .stl associated with SW is counterproductive.

Re: Different file icons

You can go to control panel then file explorer options and unhide file extensions. This way you can see the extension. 1.png Also as a starting point you can change or assign icons to a file type. You can also assign what program is the default for that file type. A little Googling will help on thi...

Re: Dense Infill to support Top Solid Layers

Silly question, but why can't you model a hollow cavity under the problem area? Eg. see my attachment below, in Fig. 20 I added a hollow slot inside the solid model I was printing, forcing support material where I needed it to be in an otherwise empty/low-fill portion of the print. You can use varia...

Re: A way to export all print settings in a non-proprietary format

CSV seems like it would make the most sense, being the most open source manner of doing it - that is, if we only got to choose one output format ;)
