Re: Laser and CNC

Added the following video of Simplify running Gcode for Milling a test block of wood. Gcode generated in FreeCad and I did not fuss about where to place the block so, it’s not on the bed... [EDIT - ADDED:] Useful Tip: Gcode files often have different filename extensions. But, all are simply ‘Text’ f...

Re: Laser and CNC

Yes, you can use Simplify for Laser and CNC movement, if you have a setup to do it and know how/what you’re doing. But, Simplify won’t generate the Gcode to do it. It only does what the Gcode tells it to do. Thus, you need to generate the Gcode either by Hand coding or by using other software (prefe...

Re: Connection error

I looked at my notes and was reminded of the solution to the same problem - perhaps specific to me but, I had TWO login names & passwords; One for the Forum and a Different One for the Software. I kept trying to use the wrong one. Once realizing that, I changed the login info and, Bingo!.. After...

Re: Print stopping when USB Bus changed.

As regards the radio ham Also true here (Oregon) he's not permitted to disrupt signals. But, he recently bought a 1950's era transmitter/rcvr and he doesn't care about neighbors. Sure, I could report him but that brings another dark-side to neighborly conduct... Anyway, stick with sdCard for printi...

Re: Print stopping when USB Bus changed.

Been running on two Mac’s for several years - had same problem until running from sdCard. Power goes out where I live and my neighbor’s ham radio corrupts all wireless signals from TV to WiFi & Bluetooth… Thus, recommend using sdCard. Also, could go to Tools>Firmware config, and set the Timeout ...

Re: Connection error

It should have Nothing to do with connection errors to the net. But, s3d shouldn't have gates to jump through like signing in to use non-cloud based software... Call it my error or a 'Senior moment'. However, not knowing the guts of S3d I posted the only other element of communication in the softwar...

Re: Extrusion Width for Overhangs?

For typical features on the parts I design, I’ve done a bazillion tests to determine the ‘best’ parameters for Overhangs and Curves (especially curved overhangs). I always prefer to avoid using Supports. For my needs, that required designing some useful test parts that represent the challenges on ty...

Re: Auto Configure Setting - PETg?

The process I posted eliminates all stringing on my machines. But, 'yes', it's the biggest challenge so the parts I posted are good example to work with.

Tip! Lower the Hot-End Temp, check the print speed and, MUST use the fan - petg wants to be cooled as soon as it's laid down...
