Re: Cooling Fan Override for Short Layers Not Working?

The pin section takes about 7 seconds to print a layer, and I had the "Increase fan speed for layers below" set to 5 seconds and 60% cooling. Since the layer time is more than your 5sec threshold it does not kick in... Boy do I feel dumb... I think I've been working too late on this thing...

Cooling Fan Override for Short Layers Not Working?

I've been battling with a small PETG print. The top features is a round pin about 5mm in diameter. I've got the settings dialed in nicely for the larger lower sections of the model, but when it gets to the pin, it makes a mess. The defects were consistent with the previous layer still being molten a...

Re: Layer Numbering in Sequential Printing?

It occurred to me that the layer numbering is restarting correctly under the Advanced tab where you can select which layers to print for each process. I'm presently testing various parameter settings while dialing in a new spool of PETG by printing four different settings in sequence. I don't need t...

Re: Layer Numbering in Sequential Printing?

That's certainly better than nothing, but I'd also like to cool the top of the supports. On second thought, it skips a layer there, and those will have a little time to cool, so it may be OK. There's still the problem that I don't want cooling on the first layer of each model to get better adhesion....

Layer Numbering in Sequential Printing?

I'm printing in PETG, and to get the best layer to layer adhesion, I'm printing each of four identical parts sequentially. The general recommendation for PETG is to use little or no cooling fan., especially for the first layer However, there is one point in each model where I'm laying down material ...

Support Angle for Rectangular Border?

I have a model that includes a rectangular outline with an elevated lip that goes around the entire thing. It's not very wide, and most of it will be done as a series of perimeter runs going around & around. I will need supports, and I'd like the zig-zag of the supports to run perpendicular to t...

Re: Reload Part

Another vote. The vast majority of my print jobs are new designs that may need tweaking, and/or parts that require tighter mechanical tolerances than I can hit on the first try. There are many designs that require as many as 6 iterations to get just right. This would be a huge help.

Re: different scale settings for different filament materials?

I'll put in another vote for this. You can still leave the scaling that is linked to the model (reached by double clicking on the model), but there should also be scaling parameters that can be saved as part of the process file. The scaling corrections are primarily determined by the filament being ...

Re: Holes in Top Layer w 10% Infil

Increasing the top layers to 4 and increasing the infil overlap from 10% to 25% helped, but now there are odd bumps in other places. I will have to start playing with different amounts of infil in different locations. The prints are at least usable by now, but they aren't as pretty as I'd like. It's...

Re: Holes in Top Layer w 10% Infil

It's a MakerGear M2E. I've currently got one process, and am activating the fan (in theory) on specific layers under the "Cooling" tab.
