Re: Stringy Infill with Powerspec Pro

Best way I have found to calibrate my extrusion multiplier is to create a 50mm cube. Tell S3D no bottom layers an no top layers. Use only a single perimeter. Now use a digital caliper to measure. Take a small bit on the top 1or two layers. You don't want to take a wide cross section since you would ...

Re: Manual support problem

I know this post is late, but I have been emailing support about this very thing. Seems not very many people either notice the issue or really care. I would think it would be something more people would have picked up on since...to me anyway...placing support from the z axis using the cross section ...

Re: Customizing Manual Support?

Makes sense...I have played with all the settings...guess I just have to get more used to how it interacts with the model. Thanks for your input.

Customizing Manual Support?

I searched and could not find much on this, but I'm sure its covered somewhere...so sorry if I'm reposting. I have found several times that S3D stops me from putting support in certain places and from certain view points...not sure if there is some restriction on how far or close to the model you ne...

Re: Stepper motors going wild

Damn man, I thought I was going to open this up and see hot topless stepper motors making out...
Could be a grounding issue. Poor grounding can cause irratic movement.

Re: What is "Wipe Nozzle" and "Wipe Distance"?

Wipe will drag the nozzle an extra distance over the extrusion just laid down with the extruder off to help "wipe" the nozzle to avoid stringing. The wipe distance is how long you want it to overlap the previous extrusion.

Re: How to solve weak vertical structures

Since S3d has such great support options you could also print with support if needed and have the layers printed in the strongest direction for your part AND do what others have said with a layer of solid infill.

Re: Layer Gaps/ Spaces?

205 on PLA is a little to hot. I have found good success at aound 190-195. I am currently printing PLA at 190. Try more cooling and less extuder heat. Also you could try slowing your print down if you are using faster speeds.

Re: Long travel paths

There is no way to control the machine paths as far as I can tell. I just sent an email about being able to have all perimeters printed for one model at the same time vs doing all of the first perimeters then the second and then the third with tons of rapid moves done over and over. It would be nice...
