Re: Overhangs not being supported

Because I battle with this more often than I should: Here's a head a buddy of mine modeled in zbrush for print. With S3D auto support set to 45 deg (which is silly, since my bot can print > 60), I get this: badSupport.png So, according to S3D, neither ear (the one on the other side is the same) need...

Re: Blobs Blobs Blobs..

So my blobbing issue hasn't gone away: I see no real difference in blob reduction using the new coupling that allows for zero play vs the one that had play. I'd expected at least some difference, but there is none. I spent quite a few hours over the weekend messing with just about every setting in S...

Highlight 'what has changed' in a process

In v3, if you have a custom profile, if you then open and change any setting, in the "Select Profile" drop-down it says "modified" to let you know you've delta'd from current. Nice feature. What would be even nicer is if the settings you changed in the profile were somehow highli...

Re: FFF file location?

To bump this old thread: Another reason storing the profiles in S3D is bad: If you do a "reset all settings", it'll wipe all your custom profiles with no warning or prompt. This recently happened to me: I had changed my monitor config, and the "cross section view" was opening off...

Re: Multiple Processes = multiple floors\roofs

I contacted support about this, at least to get it on their radar. Hopefully it'll show up as a fix in a future release.

Re: Blobs Blobs Blobs..

New push fitting installed, seems pretty locked down (no discernible slop). Now I just need to print something else. Been so busy.... But if I notice a blobbing difference I'll post back. And agreed on the retraction : My Rep1 direct-drive has 1mm of retraction, and blobbing is nonexistent.

Re: Blobs Blobs Blobs..

Thanks for the thoughts on my setup Kulturfolger (as I now hijack this thread) : The hotend is (currently) a .6mm E3D-v6 Volcano nozzle, but I've also used a 1mm nozzle in the past. Where that metal hotend attaches to the X-gantry is all 3d-printed, but it's locked down pretty tight, there's no play...

Re: Modelling program.

For something that is still simple/easy to use, but more advanced than Tinkercad (which I myself use from time to time), I'd recommend Autodesk 123D Design. It's good for hard-surface\product design stuff. If you're looking to go the more organic route, Autodesk Meshmixer has been coming along nicel...

Re: Why do my first layers turn out like this?

If you feel the first layer is the right distance (trammed correctly), it could be overextrusion: Check the Layer Tab under 'First Layer Settings': This completely varies between printers, nozzles, filaments, and z-resolution, but I usually have my first layer height set somewhere between 75-90%, an...
