I’m running into this issue myself with some prints that have fine vertical detail, necessitating using adaptive layers to minimize print times. Please implement mm as an option to number of layers.

I've experienced this a few time before, but sometimes when I use a 0.3mm layer height, part of the sliced model has a partial layer missing (left side of the model in this case). If I'm paying $130 for every major upgrade, I'd expect some formal documentation. There are some features in v5 that I don't have any reference for what they do.

Another way would be using "MeshMixer". It offered tree supports ages ago and you can set up the parameters (separation height etc.) in MeshMixer. Afterwards you can export the tree support-structure. It's freely available, just like 10+ years of tutorials for it... MeshMixer hasn't worke...

Another example of the developers being too damned lazy to create official documentation for this app. It's inexcusable that WE'RE PAYING FOR this laziness. It isn't there in the software as of yet. At least, I haven't found it.
