Re: Failed to print part

As with most (if not all models I've seen) that generate funky g-code, the problem is with the model and should be re-designed/re-CAD'd to ensure it is a proper watertight model with correctly facing triangles. If you use the mesh error tools included in Simplify3D Software, you can find a non-manif...

Re: Bugs (part 3)

1) I haven't tried closing s3d first, but I always start SD Card prints through s3d on my printrbot simple (no LCD screen) and disconnect it without issue. I did that a lot this past week and every print has turned out fine. If this happens when you disconnect USB and you're running a RAMPS board, c...

Re: Ubuntu Crash

How did you install drivers on ubuntu for your printer? I was under the impression you did not need drivers for Ubuntu/Linux to communicate with most serial devices. Try opening up the Terminal and enter the command: cd /opt/Simplify3D-2.2.0 hit enter, and it should bring you to the correct director...

Re: version 2.2 not see my printer, 2.1 see it...

gcode files will not appear on makerbot style printers, you need the x3g file. make sure you are generating an x3g file, otherwise it will not appear on the SD Card. A good test is to save the toolpath somewhere on your hard drive, navigate to where you have it saved and see if the x3g file was prop...

Re: XYZprinting Da Vinci 2.0 w/Repetier-Firmware

If the Da Vinci is running Repetier Firmware, it will connect like a "normal" printer, in other words like the RepRap style printers do. I don't believe there should be any changes made to the stock profile in order to print with it as opposed to stock da vinci firmware. Also if the LCD works like n...

Re: Simplify and ultimaker2 settings

if you go to help > reset all settings in the latest version (2.2.0) it will erase all your profiles (so back up any you need to) and then it will being your UM2 profile to current pre-configured which has been working very nicely for me.

Re: Turn off printer with GCODE after finishing ?

If you have are running Marlin firmware or a derivative of it, you can connect the PS_ON wire from the atx psu to the PS_ON pin of your board and the command M81 will shut the PSU down, M80 will turn the PSU on. Works nicely on my RAMPS 1.4 board.

Re: S3D Hanging up/Not Responding MAC OS

try:

sudo rm /Users/your_username/Library/Application\ Support/Simplify3D/Creator/*

This will delete any residual files and pretty much reset your s3d to factory
