Re: Possible slicing bug?

I suspect something related to doing "exact" equality comparisons of "inexact" floating-point numbers, like testing if someVariable >= 1.0 when someVariable is the result of a calculation that produces, say, 0.999999999998 or some such. There are floating-point math libraries tha...

Re: Sample Factory Files

I don't know that S3D associates .factory files in the registry at all. If it doesn't, it should. (read: FEATURE REQUEST!) On Linux Mint (as my machine is currently set up AT THIS TIME, it's slightly more bizarre --- if I double-click a .gcode, .g or .fff file, it opens in GEDIT; and if I double-cli...

Re: Support Structure Orientation

Jared, Maybe try adjusting the Support Infill Angles on the Advanced / Support tab of your process. I think these default to 45 and 135. I've had them at 0 and 90 so long, I don't remember what the defaults are. You can add and remove angles (and double-click to modify an existing angle) just like y...

Re: interesting little glitch

+1. jimc, just to top you, I printed six block-puzzle pieces (six STLs imported) and, not understanding at the time how processes were applied, used six processes, one for each block. Not knowing to get to the "apply process to models..." thing, I just sliced it and did my usual preview (b...

Re: Feature Request: Auto Reload Of Last Factory File

I rather like the "Open Recent" that some apps have. I used to keep my hands on the keyboard all the time using MS-Word, and so it was Alt-F 1 to open the most recently saved file. That seems to have been abandoned in favor of a separate tab/page. It's nice in that it has a long list of re...

Re: How To Use Macro Buttons?

soapy joe,

Did you home the Z axis before sending the commands? If you haven't homed Z, it has no idea where it is, and so has no idea where it's going.

Re: Idea: Subforum to share .fff profiles

All, I'd like to see the titles be just slightly more specific. Please include, as a minimum: Printer model, e.g.: MakerGearM2_ If the printer has some updates, an indication of them, e.g.: V3B_0.25mm_ (later hot end design with non-standard nozzle size) Material with manufacturer and color, e.g.: M...

Re: Slowing down during small tight bends

Andre, I don't know if you can get hold of an older version of S3D. Some earlier versions had support for "G2/G3 optimization" --- basically, detecting all those little line segments that make up a circle and converting all those tiny moves into "arc moves" --- your printer would...

Re: Help with quality.

Hard to tell but over extrusion could cause that. Be sure your filament dia is set correct and then turn the multiplier down a bit. Thank you. I have made sure my extrusion diameter was set correctly. I've put the extrusion multiplier through its courses. This is the best print I've gotten. Make su...

Re: Turning on the cooling fan via Control panel

Mr. Wayne, Just slide the fan slider on the Machine Control Panel. It will add the commands to the data stream. (You can confirm this by monitoring the communication tab with "Verbose" checked.) Note that if you are in the midst of some other command (like waiting for the bed to reach temp...
