Purge tower infill

Hi all,

I've just purchased a Creality CR-X dual extruder printer. It uses one nozzle to print the 2 colors so it uses a purge tower to change colors. As a test, I downloaded and printed the traffic cone. It printed great, but it made a purge tower that is solid PLA the same size as the tower, even though it only changed colors 3 or 4 times during the print. The tower is easily twice as much plastic and the cone. I understand that the purge tower needs to be the same height as the printed piece s the nozzle can purge on to something (so it's not trying to print into thin air) but is there anyway to make the purge tower only print a 10% infill when the nozzle isn't actually purging?

Thanks,

Joe Frank

Like you, I have recently got the CR-X and was surprised at the amount of filament used for purging. I did get some advice to ignore the tower and use ooze shield option instead. So, as I type this, I am doing the first print of the vase model using the shield. It looks messy but so far so good. Try it.

hi
And it would be interesnate to allow to reduce the number of pillars as the impression is ending in those colors.
When I have a single color to print in the end of the print , I generate a process and I disable the pillars and the printer stops spend more material for pillars , should allow to disable pillars at the end of using their color definitely
