CAD neutral file support (STEP, IGES...) and ARCs

Why is 3D printing stuck in the last century with outdated file formats like STL?

We should move to better file formats that are CAD nuetral.

This allows for smaller file sizes, smoother prints, more importantly ARC gcode support.

No other slicer out there has this feature as far as I can tell and slic3r isn't even up to here yet, with only a github issue filed 8 years ago (from memory). With no action being taken.

Thoughts?
