support for volumetric printing

I've got a heavily modified kossel variant, with a smoothieboard controller:

Volumetric extrusion support would be very nice -- It allows me to not worry about what filament I sliced the model for -- I just run M200Dx.xx for what diameter the filament I have loaded. it works very well.

Both Cura and Slic3r support this, and should be trivial to support -- under the hood, it would just set the filament volume to 1.128379mm, far as I understand.

from a technical standpoint, if you want to read a little bit about why this is bad, here is a thread on it.

What I'm asking for is pretty different from constant volumetric speed.

What I'm requesting allows for gcode that is doesn't care what filament diameter is loaded -- I don't like reslicing just because I'm printing in a different color of PLA that has a diameter that is 1.65mm instead of 1.72mm. Istead of telling the slicer what diameter my material is, I tell my firmware via the M200 command

Please read the article I linked. these aren't the same thing at all...

Re: support for volumetric printing

Any ETA for this one.... this was a major improvement in merlin over a year ago...and is supported in the free packages.

its supported in smoothiewear too

it prevents you from having to re slice and re upload your geode every time you change out your filament.
for a pay package, id expect features like this to be added quickly not a year late...
