Fan On for perimeter printing & Fan Off for infill printing

I would like to request below feature.

_ Fan On for outer shell/perimeter printing and Fan Off for infill or support printing. This is for every layer except for the initial layers.
_ When this feature is on, user can enter the fan speed in percentage.

This would allow selective cooling control for outer shell/perimeter of the print object only. The infill or support does not need cooling control.

I hope that this would give a better surface finish on some materials.

Seriously? No one else wants this? WOW.

This feature would HUGELY improve thin walls and structurally lower chamfers on ABS prints, in particular -- because without it, the perimeters curl inwards and up. Lowering the extrusion temperature can help ... but usually only at the cost of destroying inter-layer bonding.

I've been doing this manually, all day long today ... especially for the outer two of three shells, from layers 3 to 10 for my particular case.

For ABS, I want the fan off for infill, so as not to weaken the overall structure or cause more than acceptable cooldown warping. That right there is KEY to making this work.

Needs to have the same sort of layer/on/off set-up as temperatures and what not, also. We definitely don't want a fan blasting for all perimeters, all the time.

This would be AWESOME.

Bryan.

To so this you can use the scripting system of s3d. But mind that avoiding fans on layer 1 would need manual editing
