Absolute values in some cases required

The first layer speed should be absolute and not relative to the print speed.
Right now it's a percentage and doesn't make much sense to me.

The same probably counts for first layer height, should likely also not be a percentage of the current Z resolution but an absolute first layer to ensure perfect bonding in any resolution.

I guess there are a bunch of other parameters of that sort where relative settings are not a good choice because they need absolute ones.

I asked this last week:
viewtopic.php?f=23&t=4565

But no one else seemed to want it based on the lack of responses

I think it should have been like this from begin on.
S3D makes so many things better than other slicers, that part is just a design error.

Agreed.

Especially for first layer height.

e.g on my printer, a first layer height of 0.15mm gives me the best balance of adhesion, without excessive pressure on the extruder stepper.

Regardless of whether I am printing at 0.1mm, 0.2mm, or 0.3mm etc - I always require my first layer height to be 0.15mm.

It doesn't make sense to describe the first layer height in terms of the (rest of the) print resolution.

How about a simple master switch that gives users the option to set use absolutes or percentages?
(Then can also always just enter e.g "80%" and S3D would see the percentage sign and user a percentage in that case)
