Better anchoring for solid layers over sparse infill

Looking to have better support for solid infill (especially layers that are only partially solid) See this picture for what I'm talking about:

The green solid infill is placed on top of the gray sparse layer below, but the "edges" of the solid infill are floating over empty space.

One option is to make the solid (green) infill layer a solid diaphragm layer, and thus anchored to the outer perimeter. I've seen skeinforge do this. But is probably overkill. Instead, the slicer could augment the previous layer a bit so that solid infill has something to sit upon.

If the sparse infill layer were something like a honeycomb, you could just extend the solid infill to the next available honeycomb wall, which would be more efficient to extending it all the way back to the perimeter.

Not sure if I'm explaining clearly, but hopefully this makes sense.
