Update Model

Tue Jul 26, 2016 2:27 am

In slic3r is a nice function just "update the model" (including the old position, scale and rotation).
Slic3r itself notifies if the model on the disk is newer than the imported model.
That makes it much easier to react on changes of the model.

I second this request.

I have done several prints where the same model is repeated many times (20x) in an array. If I make a change to the model I must re-position each component and re-associate each model with it's process so that it prints in an order that prevents head collision.

Being able to compare current models in the factory file with source models could reduce the misery-index of this operation.

Rather than comparing the actual structure, this might be easily implemented by comparing the (time of import) file time-stamp to the current file time-stamp. Or just make the update operation manual (at the user's request in the 'Edit' menu).
