+1 for me on this, it would be so helpful to have this feature. Have you ever tried to find the sweetspot with PETG to stop stringing alone :D

+1. I just bought Simplify3d today and was disappointed by the lack of this feature. Even the free slicers have it. I prefer using firmware retraction. Please implement this. It's been requested for 3 years now.

+1 here too. Doing some g-code hacking it appears the CR10-V2 software (Marlin) does a fine job, I think coordinating with the ooze control (K factor, if I remember correctly.)

I think I don't keep S3D after testing period. Speed en mm/min was boring too.

Using firmware retractions does require replacement steps, yes. But setting speeds to mm/s is just one click
inside the general options... :roll:

As studiodyne has stated, you can use the replace commands to insert firmware retractions in the place of retractions in Simplify3D.

Check the option for "Include M101/M102/M103" in the G-Code tab. Then include these in your "Additional terminal Commands for post processing" inside the Scripts tab.

{REPLACE "M101" "G11"}
{REPLACE "M103" "G10"}
{STRIP "M102"}

Finally, set retraction distance and extra restart distance in your extruder controllers to 0. This will eliminate any instances of duplicate retractions or primes.
It's been almost 7 years Jake, any chance we can finally get this put in?

The instructions posted above still work in V5, so that's an easy way to use firmware retractions right now.

If you need more complex retract/prime behavior, V5 also added pre and post retraction scripts for further customization.
