S3D Settings Manual

Here’s my personal S3D Settings Manual – extensive info I've collected from various sources on each the S3D Parameters and Settings. This third version adds lots of info I’ve found on how various profile settings affect strength (88 pages, 3.4 MB):

Organizing this info into a single document has been a wonderful learning tool and has helped me produce better printed models. It might be useful to others. However …

Disclaimer: This information is not authoritative nor an official voice of the authors of S3D.

The information includes substantial input from users of this forum, including the Tip of the Day posts by user KeyboardWarrior and posts by Airscapes.

This version of the document carries the date stamp 4/30/2018, but the link above will always have the latest version of this document …

I hope this document is useful!

… Feedback is always welcome …

Re: S3D Settings Manual

I've posted an updated (and expanded) Settings document - now 96 pages, incorporating Matt Harrison’s Extruder Calibration procedure, some suggestions from Tom Sanladerer, and a "Metes and Bounds" section based on Maximum Melt Volume.

I also have packages of files specific to the Prusa i3 Mk3 - a set of 12 core profiles that I have collected for that printer, as well as my own profile that I use for PLA on the Mk3. My own core profile is based on the S3D profile for the Mk3, with modifications suggested by the other core profiles and various recommendations. All settings changes are documented with the source or rationale for the changed.

Updated S3D Settings Manual: http://www.BreathFlute.com/pdf/S3D_SettingsCG.pdf

Collection of 12 “core” profiles for the Prusa i3 Mk3 (including 4 from S3D and the Josef Průša profile from 1/3/18) and a document that highlights the differences: http://www.breathflute.com/zip/S3D_Pi3M ... les_CG.zip

My current core profile for the Prusa i3 Mk3 for PLA extruded at 0.40: http://www.BreathFlute.com/zip/S3D_Pi3M ... 180504.zip

I hope this is useful! … feedback always welcome …
