New update not visible to the app

Was having a problem with getting hung up on calculating infill for a couple of STL files. Found there was a solution that was an update to version 4.0.0. Checked for updates in my copy of 4.0.0 and the app said my software was up to date. Poked around on the website and found that there is indeed an update 4.0.1 which I downloaded, installed and found to resolve my problem.

Why was the new update not visible to the app?
