i believe the wipe finishes the layer, then continues onward for a little bit to "wipe" away the hot end, then continues onto the next layer.

yes, but did it move backward before?

I checked the Gcode for wipes in 2.1.0 a few days ago, it was moving past previously.
Seams always looked pretty good to me in S3D, not sure if I notice a difference.

New release did change something for me just not sure what, but it works :D

how can I do update? I tried like this help--> check uptade and give no any update also my software 2.1.0

Go to the download page as if you were a new user, put in your product key and then download it that way.
