Printing without shells not generating usable g code

Wed Dec 19, 2018 9:48 am

I am currently try to do tensile testing to see the effect of differently infill patterns. However I need to completely remove the shells in order to isolate the infill patterns themselves. When I drop the shells to zero though the whole print fails to generate usable g code. Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone know a work around that would allow me to print without any shells?

When you say "not generating usable gcode" can you elaborate on what you mean?

FYI - recently installed 4.1.1 (previous was 4.0) so, I thought I'd try something with Zero shells.

Works as it should - tried two parts - both generated usable gcode. Verified by loading the Gcode into Repetier-Host. Results of one part attached... Only the internal infill and Top/Btm layers...

Tried the same here on v4.1.1....and gcode that I would call usable is created. What I'd use it for....who knows!
