Need help "laying-down" objects when importing

I'm noticing some of my objects when loaded are positioned on their edge and I need to flip them around so that their bottom is on the bottom of the grid so that it will print propely via the printer....

I'm on a Mac and I noticed the FAQ...I thought ALT-Left-Click might help but it doesn't seem to do anything...

Is there any way to do this (outside of loading it into another program and manipulating the model) ?

Thx!!

Command-left-click allows you to position the object on the bed.
Double clicking on the object will open a window that will let you rotate the object.
Under Rotational Offsets try 90 deg on either X or Y axis rotation until you get the bottom on the platform.
After that, If it looks like half of the object is underneath the platform or above the platform then click on the drop button.
