How to create a desktop shortcut in Linux??

Hey, just like the subject asks, how do you create a desktop shortcut in Linux? In earlier versions of Simplify3D, it would create a desktop shortcut for you when installed, but the latest release doesn't seem to do that. I have to go into the terminal and execute the launcher script manually in order to run it.VidMate Mobdro

Step 1: Locate the . desktop files of applications. Go to Files -> Other Location -> Computer. ...
Step 2: Copy the . desktop file to desktop. ...
Step 3: Run the desktop file. When you do that, you should see a text file kind of icon on the desktop instead of the logo of the application.

You can create a shortcut by holding the Shift and Control keys of the keyboard and then highlighting and dragging the file/folder to the location of your choice. This may mean you need to open the location folder so that it is visible if you are not placing the file/folder shortcut on the desktop
