Forum website security issue

I've sent this message to support, but am repeating it here to ensure the message gets through......

It looks as if there is an issue with the SSL certificate for the url https://www,forum.simplify3d.com. I have been getting an error message for about a week now from my browser that is indicating an issue with the certificate name. The error message text is in the attached pdf.

Please pass this to your webmaster/web hosting provider so they can resolve the issue. This is definitely preventing many from accessing the forum....and more importantly, will probably make them believe that Simplify3D has closed down/gone bust/dissapeared off the face of the earth.....or whatever one's imagination might conjure up!

Just curious, but why not use forum.simplify3d.com, at least that's what the links point at?
They're using a wildcard certificate (*.simplify3d.com) and while this covers forum.simplify3d.com,
abcd.simplify3d.com and others (*.simplify3d.com) it's not valid for multiple levels, like www .forum.simplify3d.com.

Haven't been looking much into things like this recently - but do common browsers support multilevel wildcard
certificates nowadays without problems?
