I have the same question as Peirof. I've been using Simplified3D for years now and I would like to continue to use it, however, it's starting to feel like Cura and PrusaSlicer (both free) are passing me by in functionality and upgrade development.

Please let the community of Simplified3D users know if it's time to look for a new slicer, or if updates and continued development are still on your roadmap and when can we expect them.

same here..

I did get an e-mail.. since I wanted to purchase it.
but don't want to waste the money, if I need to pay for V5 again.
this was the e-mail

------

Hello,

We are all still hard at work here. We are really, really excited for V5. It will be a massive update and has required a lot of work here at Simplify3D but we are working to bring it to you as soon as we can.

The ender 6 is supported. If you purchase the software we would be happy to send a profile you can use for this machine. Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

Regards,

~Simplify3D Education Team

I think the company and the project are not in business anymore.

-I mailed there support 3 times, over the last 2 year to know about V5, every time I got the exactly same mail return from there support.

Code: Select all

Thank you for your e-mail. I am happy to help.
I can assure you we are all still hard at work here. We are really, really excited for V5.

Some weeks ago i mailed them again, but no reply.

So for me i use what i have, and i'am not so "really excited" anymore :D , maybe some day i switch to another slicer.

At this point, I only come back to see the wide range of complaints about Simplify3D and to have a laugh. They have repeatedly lied about their release schedule and put those of us who paid out in the cold. Free updates when you purchase? Nope, not a one. Hardly worth it now considering almost all other slicers have implemented nearly every feature that I could ask for, and then some that I didn't know I needed. If I were to even think about going to 5.0, they had better have added some sort of patented feature which just blows my mind. This is almost going down the path of asking for people to pay for internet browsers.
