Printer model in options set up request

Hiya all.

I was wondering how you go about setting up the printer model in options.

I take it you need a 3D model of the lay out you want. Would that be in .STL format?
how would you set it up to be in the correct place. is that within the 3D design software.

I have a wanhao D4S and am looking at adding to the visual environment in Simplify3D.

Any direction would be appreciated.

many thanks

Re: Printer model in options set up request

I have a windows computer running Win 7 this is what works for me.
You will need a 1:1 STL file of your build table. Place this in C:\Users\ (your user name)\AppData\Simplify3D\S3D-Software. You can then access it from the Tools tab\Options\machine. You can also add it from there to any folder you like.
If you want to turn it off but not loose the file, go to colours\choose colour\ set Hue and Saturation to 0 and Val to 226

The only thing I have found is i can not associate different printer models with different profiles.

Hope this helps.
