Over the past few weeks I experienced a lot of extrude failures and ran thru the full battery of tests and possibilities. I think I can say now after all that "A clean tip is key". I generally run prints that will use 1/2 to over 1 full roll of filament and can run up to 40 hrs. The tips need dis assembly and cleaning with a torch to remove all residues and then reassemble and that means the thermal element and sensor using the needed thermal conductive grease and capton tape. I tried cleaning the tips without heating and dis assembly but they would only run for a short while. I also added a filament wiper (jpeg attached). Just a clothes pin with a piece of micro fiber rag. Some of the rolls leave more residue than others but any contamination seems to be bad at the heater tip.
