Top Layers Not Solid

Hello,

I know in other slicers you can edit the top layer infill extrusion width to try and eliminate the issues in the attached images.

I have had a look in the settings and haven't been able to find anything.

Does anyone have any tips?

(Using a Makerbot Mini)

Thanks in advanced!

Regards,

Alex

Your top layers look very solid to me, except for the one outer ring. I have a feeling there's something else going on there and would be very doubtful that the solution is to extrude more since all other parts of the print look fine.

Hello,

It would appear my second attachment failed to attach!

As you can see, there is the gap in the G-Code, so this is what makes me think there is something I can do to make it fill the gap in!

Alex

Yup, that's probably an easy fix. You just need to adjust your thin wall settings.

Post your factory file and it will make it easier for people to give suggestions (File > Save Factory File)

Re: Top Layers Not Solid

Yes there is no room to put another extrusion there. Lower your perimeters to 2 so there will be more room for infill.

Re: Top Layers Not Solid

Increasing the "outline overlap" setting on the Infill tab to 30% will also help, since it allows more space for the gap fill
