Having problems using supports.

I am trying to print the attached file. Since it is hollow I need to put supports in. I have put the check mark in "generate support" I also opened "support generation and chose "generate automatic supports" but no supports are created. The bottom (the part that sits on the bed) is open so I don't know why it is not creating supports. I tried to do it manually and that did not work either.

How can I get the supports to work on this model.
Thanks for your help.

Re: Having problems using supports.

The surface normals on your model are inverted. Go to Repair > Flip Surface Orientation and click somewhere on your model and it will be fixed.

OK...did that. Model looks better now but still will not let me add supports either automatically or manually. Am I forgetting something?

OK...got it...I had to delete the current file and then re-import it and I can now use supports. Thank you so much for your help.
