What happened here? (Photo)

Never had this particular issue. Seems everything was going fine then this.
The bottom 1/2 inch or so printed normally, there should have been another inch that looked exactly like the bottom part that printed ok.
Instead the upper last inch came out as a bird's nest.
This exact same file printed fine previously so I don't think it's the x3g file

Re: What happened here? (Photo)

My first guess would be a partially clogged nozzle.

Re: What happened here? (Photo)

My guesses :
- clogged nozzle
- tangled filament in the spool
- spool is not spinning freely

Thanks for the suggestions.
I'm going to disassemble the extruder this weekend and see if there's a clog.

What causes a clog at the nozzle? Never had one before in over 1000 hours of printing.

I would have though that anything that makes it as far as the nozzle would just melt and go through (assume it's PLA or some meltable material)?
