need diffent support styles during print

Fri Jun 23, 2017 5:25 pm

Hello,

I need the supports alternate from 0 to 90 degrees for the layers up to 41mm and then from 41mm to the end of the print I need the supports to just run at 0 degrees. How do I go about doing this? I was thinking that perhaps I could edit the gcode script and start another saved file when 41mm is done, but I have no idea how to do that.

Just go the supports tab and change the support infill angles. If you enter 0 and 90 it will alternate.

You can do multiple process if you want to also change other settings.

If you want to use different Angles on the same height, you can split the object, and create ghost processes with just supports. It works quite ok, but is for advanced users

I have been using multiple processes on a project for the same purpose to get different supports at different heights. Takes some experimentation but works quite well after you get it figured out.
My main suggestion is to get the first process exactly correct then duplicate so you only have to change the supports in the other processes. I was always forgetting to make other changes in each process.
