Setting start location/position

Hi all,
Last night I was trying to set a start position to a specific location on my part but it seemed to not work. Printer is a Prusa MK2.
When I look at the preview, the retraction points, which I am assuming are the layer changes, don't change. They are random all over the walls of the part. I thought that they would line up near the location I set.
I am sure I must be missing something on setting this! I forgot to save a factory on this so any general advice or thoughts would be appreciated and I can post a file later if need be.
