Different start scripts for different materials?

Fri Sep 15, 2017 6:26 pm

Hi,
I want to use a bit different gcodes for different filaments, e.g. to calibrate the extruder.
Currently it seems to me, that the start script is depending on the machine profile, but changing the material type (eg. from ABS to PLA) doesn't touch the start script at all.

Is there a way to have different scripts for different material types? Or do I have to create an "ABS" machine profile and a "PLA" machine profile to solve this?

In general, I'm very confused which setting is being changed and which setting is being kept when changing the material type. I was expecting everything is bound to the material, but it seems only a few parameter are - and the majority is connected to the machine profile. Any plans to change this in the future to make it more clear for noobs like me?

Thanks,
Boby

There's lots of threads on the forum already about how to do this. Here's one and I'm sure you can search to find others:
