Burning

I just installed a swiss micro all metal hot end, and I'm having issues.

I usually print PETG at 240c, but after the hot end change I had to bump it up to 250c. I also turned off retraction, as it was goobering too much.

This is my first print with this hot end, and I don't know why it's all burnt. What setting to change?

Re: Burning

PETG hates to be over extruded. When it overextrudes even a little some plastic accumulates on the outside of the nozzle and cooks to a brown gunk. This will eventually deposit a stain onto the printed piece.

In short, turn down the extrusion multiplier about 10% to start. So if you are at 1.00 change to .9 or so and see what happens.

Re: Burning

I'm at .9 multiplier, I will try .8 tonight.

Thanks, for the suggestion.

Re: Burning

... then take first an exact messure of the diameter of your filament, preferably with a micrometer-screw. The value is to be fit in menue Others.

The range of the multiplier from 0.9 up to 1.0 or more is only the fine tuning of the diameter.

Re: Burning

Unfortunately, that did not work. 0.8 didn't fix it, and the filament is 1.75

Update:
I found out I did not have the hot end tightened all the way and it was leaking filament from the top.
