Estimated time of print

The estimated "Build time" given is not accurate. A recent build time given was 1 hour 57 minutes. It took 4 hours 39 minute to complete the print. Is there something I need to adjust or is this how the software is?
Thanks

Re: Estimated time of print

This has been an issue for a long tome....at least four years!

Do a search on the forum using the two words "print time" and you'll find tons of threads on the subject.

Re: Estimated time of print

Start here http://gcode.ws/

There's an even better estimator out there if you look up gcode estimator. The best timing you can get is if you can find your acceleration and jerk settings because more than 50% of your time will be spent there.

And I totally feel your pain. I made a Fillenium Malcon that was supposed to take 4 hours and it took 17! A star destroyer that was supposed to take 2 hours I gave up on after 5!
