Problem with infill not doing all the lines.

Hi,
I install a new MK8 extruder recently on my Prusa i3, and I have a weird problem about infill, this didn't happen with the old extruder.

It's hard to explain with words, so I just recorded a mini video, please read the following before seen it:
  • In the first cube, the infill is how it should supposedly work, and how it worked before. Do a line, move, do a line, move, do a line, move, etc.
  • In the second cube, it's how it is doing now. Do a line, go back in the same line, move, do a line, go back in the same line, move, etc.
  • I adjust the X axis belt like three times, and it's always the same.

Re: Problem with infill not doing all the lines.

It might help if you posted the factory file and the gcode file for this print.

That makes it easier to help

Hi rrdavis,
Sorry about that, here it is the factory file and the GCode.

I hope it helps.
Thanks!

A "Factory File" is a file created from the option on the File menu.....Create Factory File. The file suffix will be ".factory" .

What you have attached is the generated gcode....suffix ".gcode"..... file and the source graphic file.....suffix ".stl".

Re: Problem with infill not doing all the lines.

I have at the moment only looked to the gcode-file, opened in S3D, it runs fine for me (compared to the video)!

Damaged installation of the program or the printer profil ???

Re: Problem with infill not doing all the lines.

I loaded the factory file....and settings look horribly horribly wrong!!!!!

You have a Prusa i3....yet the machine in the profile is a Makerbot Replicator and the firmware is Reprap. ..which I'm not sure is the right one or not
The machine illustration in preview is also a Makerbot...and the model is way off the bed!
The extrusion multiplier is 2.5....which is way off what it should be.
The primary extruder AND heated bed are both set to the T0 identifier....which I'm not sure is right.
There's virtually nothing in your starting script...no temperature setting, etc

I think you perhaps need to reconfigure the slicer to the base I3 settings....and then run through tuning things from there.......

And regarding your reported problem....how can changing the extruder make the slicer go wrong??? The new extruder may be loose...or you've now got a slack belt.

Hi dkightley,

I don't know where you saw that Markerbot Replicator machine profile.
The firmware is RepRap(Marlin/Repetier/Sprinter), I have Marlin.
The machine illustration in preview is also a Makerbot...and the model is way off the bed!
I don't understand this. I have my build volume set to 200, 200, 195. And my model is in 90, 90, 0. I think it's perfectly fine.
The extrusion multiplier is 2.5....which is way off what it should be.
I have my extruder steps/mm in 93.0, I think that value only multiplies the 93, I will change the value in Configuration.h and go back to 1 in extrusion multiplier.
The primary extruder AND heated bed are both set to the T0 identifier....which I'm not sure is right.
I really don't know about this, I never have a problem. What you to recommend ?
There's virtually nothing in your starting script...no temperature setting, etc
The starting script have G28 (home) and G29 (autolevel), why should I put temperature settings in there if it's automatically match with the values in the Temperature tab ?
The new extruder may be loose...or you've now got a slack belt
I will buy a new belt and try again.

Thank you for your feedback, I appreciate it.

I never said you needed to buy a new belt. I was just hypothesizing what may cause the issue you have described.

I'd prefer you to check the belt tension before shelling out money on a new belt that is probably not needed!!!

Re: Problem with infill not doing all the lines.

Without looking for details I found in Extruders Tab a multiplier of 2.5 that means 250% of the diameter of the filament.
I don't know if it is printable. A normal value is ca. 1.0

An issue as drawn in the video I don't quite follow, either with my own printer profiles or the attached factory - profile or gcode-file.
