Not retacting (enough)

I am getting some serious stringing in my prints. I read the excellent trouble shooting guide on the site here and so I set my tract up a lot and my retract speed up some then tried a small test print. I can hear and see the retractions and it did not take long to realize I am not getting many.
Long story short, here is a screen cap of the build screen showing travel and retracts. I have very few retractions and to add insult to injury it will do a retraction to move 2 mm but does not retract to move 20 mm.
I have poked around and I don’t see a way in the software to force more retractions. I do think something is wrong.
