Bug: 'Live preview tracking' isn't in sync with printer

I'm currently doing my first Simplify3D print, and have 'Preview Mode' active in 'Line Mode', with 'Live preview tracking' enabled.

I've noticed that the preview is about a minute or so ahead of the where the printer is up to.

While doing the raft for a 100x72mm object, it was about a layer ahead...

There's a serial buffer on the firmware, meaning that the printer might receive 50 commands and acknowledge all of them, however, it can wait as long as it want's to actually execute them. They just wait in the buffer until the machine is ready. So not too surprising that the preview tracking might be a few moves ahead. That's normal.
