Craftbot 3 starts grinding and tries to leave build area

Tue Mar 26, 2019 10:41 am

Running a Craftbot 3. It has a feature called the Supervisor that monitors for filament jams. Yesterday I had the feature detect a jam and it couldn't clear it, so the print stopped. When I came home and checked, everything seemed good so I hit resume on the print, and the printer proceeded to be start the print over but it was offset by a few inches, and the printer started grinding and "bottomed" out in the y axis when trying to print, making some gnarly grinding noises.

It seemed as though the print didn't want to restart in the appropriate spot.

Sounds like a firmware issue if after a firmware initiated pause the print begins again with the wrong offset. Have you reached out to the manufacturer for tips about offsets and firmware initiated pauses?

No, I didn't reach out. I was sort of under the impression that S3D would have had some of this sorted out since the Craftbot 3 is listed as a supported printer. I have no issue reaching out but I feel I am not educated enough yet on this software since I have been relying on Craftware up to this point.
