BRIM help

I am pretty new to S3D but I have exhausted my searches trying to figure out how to add a brim. I have it selected and yet when I preview my print it never shows the brim. I am sure it is so simple but cant really figure it out. Any help is appreciated.

Re: BRIM help

Could you post a Factory File where you are having issues with this? You should just be able to go to the Additions tab in the Process Settings and make sure the Use Skirt/Brim checkbox is checked to ensure your part gets a brim.

Re: BRIM help

The way it worked in version 4.01 was on the additions tab :
Select skirt/brim
skirt layer at least 1
Skirt offset 0 (will be attached to model and any support
skirt outline 1 or more.. For brims on ABS i use 4 -5 outlines depending on the size of the part

If that doesn't work then something else is wrong.
Good luck

Re: BRIM help

The short answer is that a brim is simply a skirt with a zero mm offset from part.

Go to Additions and configure the number of layers and outlines for your brim, but select 0mm for offset and Bob's your uncle!

Re: BRIM help

We're guessing without seeing how the OP has set things up.

To provide a precise and quick answer......attach a Factory File. File menu===>Save Factory File. With the model & profile set up to print!
